One of the things I have learned with my own goal setting and in helping my clients achieve their goals, is that you need to pay attention to your actions and results on a regular basis.

The easy solution to this is to track something.

Select one or more things to track, for instance

If you want to lose weight

  1. Pounds lost
  2. Inches lost
  3. # of workouts
  4. Mileage – if you walk or run
  5. Calories

If you want to grow your business

  1. Networking events – but be strategic
  2. Follow up calls / appointments
  3. Blog posts
  4. And, of course, revenue & expenses

If you are looking for a new job

  1. Connections contacted
  2. Resumes sent out
  3. Interviews

Ask yourself on a regular basis

What am I focusing on? How am I spending my time?

Sometimes it is easy to be very busy, but we need to be busy doing the things that will get us closer to our goals.
