Thirty Fifteen
Do you have a project on your plate that you’ve been procrastinating?
People often do this at Tax Time!
Here’s a methodology that I use:-
Commit to work on it for a minimum of 30 minutes without stopping. Set a timer, if you need to. Once the 30 minutes is over, you may find that you are involved in the project and want to continue, that’s great. When you do need a break, set a timer and take a break for just 15 minutes. Then commit to another 30 minutes or more. Repeat until the project is complete.
Somehow knowing that you can take a break each 30 minutes keeps you going. And committing to just 30 minutes at a time doesn’t seem quite so daunting.
Of course, this assumes that you have broken down the project into steps so you are not just sitting there figuring out what to do first.
Next time – Planning a project.
