Imagine a poor little seedling. Finding itself in less than hospitable surroundings. No lush flowerbed with great mulch and regular watering. But somehow it managed to find a crack in the concrete to squeeze through, find the sunlight and bloom.
Sometimes it may feel like we are that poor little seedling searching for the opening to lead us into the sunlight.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
~ Winston Churchill
II was watching 20/20 last night and Barbara Walters was interviewing billionaire entrepreneurs and one of them said that successful people do all the things that unsuccessful people don’t want to do.
Sometimes we have to do tough things. Sometimes we have to believe in ourselves when we don’t think we can. We have to act “as if” even before we are there.
Perseverance is what keeps us going. It’s also important to have supportive people around you. People who encourage you and believe in you even when you are struggling to believe in yourself.
What techniques do you use to keep yourself going? Who is in your support system?

Hi Judy, this is so great because I often notice and talk about the little plants and flowers that grow through the cracks, in a place where it doesn’t seem like anything could grow. It represents, to me, the will to live. Life is so amazing, it springs up all around us! So inspiring. To keep me going, I remind myself that all of the things I don’t want to do (and there are many) need to be done so that my vision can grow and serve others. I have a big support system with Brandy Mychals and her community, as well as many friends who are entrepreneurs.
I think it is perseverance itself that keeps me going. Working alone at home is pretty isolating. I need to rent space in ashamed price environment – I miss the collective energy and camaraderie.
