Luck ‘o the Irish
It’s March Madness time of the year. No, I am not talking about basketball. I don’t know much about basketball. Actually, I was once in a meeting with my boss who said, “We need a full court press on this!” And I had no idea what he was talking about.
But I digress. The March Madness I am talking about is St. Patrick’s Day. The Wearing ‘o the Green. Kiss Me I’m Irish. The Luck ‘o the Irish.
Whether you are Irish or not, are you unconsciously hoping to find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Buying lottery tickets and hoping for a better life?
Do you consider yourself lucky? The last time the Powerball was huge, I heard a man being interviewed outside a store where he was going in to buy a Powerball ticket. And he said. “I know I won’t win, but I play anyway.”
Henry Ford said…..
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”
~ Henry Ford
In other words, your beliefs about yourself, the world, etc create your results. And if you believe you aren’t lucky or you won’t win…. Guess what? That is most likely to be your experience. Now I don’t think that playing the lottery or counting on luck should be your only plan for your financial future.
Thomas Jefferson said…..
“I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.”
~ Thomas Jefferson
I have mixed feelings about this quote. Yes, I believe that we do have to take actions to create results. Just as my coaching clients!! But if you believe that it has to be hard work, then it probably will be.
The challenge will all of this is figuring out what you do believe – not consciously or logically, but in your subconscious or unconscious mind.
To help you begin to figure things out, here is a link to another blog post – What Do You Need to Change
Thinking about your financial situation, what do you need to change?
If you are not satisfied with your current situation, what can you change to affect it in a positive way? Reduce your expenses? Increase your income? Make different choices?
For instance, instead of going shopping or out to dinner with friends, go for a walk or have a pot luck dinner at home.
Learning about your hidden beliefs is powerful and can give you the option of making different choices. Conscious choices. Choices that give you the results you are seeking. Choices that aren’t just a response to situations automatically based on beliefs that are just old habits that are not serving you well. Make a choice today to get help figuring it out.
